Read: Proverbs 27:17
As iron sharpens iron,
so one person sharpens another.
S: As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
O: If you've done any cooking in the kitchen, you know that you have to sharpen your knives every now and then. You have a knife steel, or a sharpening steel. It is steel on steel.
Our friendships are the same way. We keep each other sharp. When one of us starts feeling dull or useless, the other pulls you up, encourages you and in essence, sharpens you. We need one another. One doesn't work without the other.
A: I can apply this to my own life by being a better friend. I'm always the one who seems to need to be sharpened. I need to turn that around and be a sharpening steel for someone else.
P: Lord, I pray that I may be a sharpening steel for someone else. You are my sharpening steel. You keep me from becoming dull and useless. I need to pass that on to someone else. I ask You, Lord, to help me be a better friend. To be the one who sharpens rather than always being the one who needs to be sharpened. In Your Heavenly Name I pray. Amen.
